FCC Construcción makes progress on the Pallas project (Netherlands)

FCC Construcción has signed an agreement with the client to move the project forward through its successive phases. To this end, an agreement has been formalised between NGR Pallas and FCC Construcción on the scope, schedule, budget and technical solutions for the construction of the first part of the PALLAS reactor building. The agreement marks an important moment in the project's trajectory.
The PALLAS reactor is important for the treatment and diagnosis of more than 30,000 patients with cancer and cardiovascular diseases. These patients depend on the medical isotopes produced in Petten, the former high-flux reactor. With the construction of the new reactor, the continuous supply of these isotopes will be guaranteed through a state-of-the-art medical isotope reactor. The PALLAS reactor will also contribute to research into a CO2-free energy supply. The new reactor and the new surrounding nuclear infrastructure will not only guarantee the supply of medicine, but will also further strengthen the Dutch nuclear sector and develop innovative nuclear technologies.
Currently, employees of more than 10 nationalities are participating in this project. In total, more than 25 different nationalities will be involved in the development of the PALLAS project, giving it an international flavour.
