Carpinteira is a metal bridge built in the late nineteenth century, located within the urban perimeter of the city of Covilhã.

The bridge integrates two stone masonry encounters with inscribed arches and a single metal section, in a lattice, with 51.2 meters totaling a length of approximately 100 meters.

The activity consists of dismantling the existing structure and replacing it with the new structure.

The construction process for this replacement consists of lifting the old board, attach it to the new metal board and push the assembly until the new board exceed the span of the bridge.

Subsequently, the board will be lowered to its final position, and the execution of a reinforced concrete slab that will support the railroad track.
