FCC celebrates the V Edition of the Vive Saludable Awards

FCC has held the V Edition of the VIVE Saludable Awards at its corporate headquarters in Las Tablas in Madrid. In this way, the FCC Group recognizes the work and commitment to occupational safety, health and well-being of the different participating organizational units, thus highlighting the special importance of dedication to improving working conditions through the best practices in occupational risk prevention and health promotion in the workplace.

The opening of the event was carried out by Pedro Ledesma, who gave way to the welcoming words of Felipe Bernabé García, FCC General Secretary. We also had the presence of the president of the FCC Group, Esther Alcocer Koplowitz, and the main executives of the company's business areas.

As in previous calls, the result has been excellent, the winning applications have been selected from among almost 40 applications from all geographic and business areas of the organization. The initiative or actions carried out by FCC departments, teams, business areas or individuals that contribute to the consolidation of a culture of prevention and the promotion of health and well-being in the workplace have been rewarded.

The winners proclaimed in the three categories "Occupational Risk Prevention", "Health Promotion" and "Personal Mention" have been the following:

Category PREVENTION OF LABOR RISKS

Recognition of the commitment with proven effectiveness, in the management of occupational risk prevention, materialized in: significant milestones, implemented processes, innovative technical measures, entrepreneurial initiatives and any other fact that has favored the control of said risks and the improvement of conditions of security.

First award 

  • Project "Design and implementation of street cleaning carts" for Zone III of the Delegation of Madrid- LV Zone 6 (Madrid) of the Environment area.

Second award

  • Candidature "LED lighting in the galleries that can be visited in the sewage system" in Zone I of the Delegation Centro- UTE Alcant Madrid Lot D of the Aqualia team.
  • Project presented by the Construction area of Portugal "Demolition of beams, pillars and slabs by means of a remote robot", in the Luis Bívar Building project.

Category HEALTH PROMOTION

Recognition of the work to promote healthy values, habits and practices, the contribution to preserving and improving people's health and well-being, and innovative alternatives for a healthier work environment.

First award 

  • Candidacy "Protocol for the management of health, well-being and, especially, adaptation of jobs for especially sensitive and older workers" presented by the Castilla y León Delegation of FCC Medio Ambiente.
  • Project "Five-minute exercise program at work" of the Delegation of Álava, Vizcaya, Cantabria- Internal Joint Venture of Bilbao for the Environment.

Second award 

  • Project "Prevention of musculoskeletal disorders" presented by the Aqualia team from the North-Asturias Delegation
  • Project "Emotional well-being in Aqualia: Covid-19 Challenge" presented by the Aqualia SSCCs.

PERSONAL MENTION Category

Professional recognition to workers who have contributed in an outstanding way to the improvement of safety and health at work in their area of responsibility, the awards have been:

  • Cipriano M. Castro González, head of production for the Middle East-Riyadh Metro at FCC Construcción.
  • The maintenance team (Ángel Luis Sánchez Sánchez, Ángel Fernández Pérez, José Feito García, Idahosa Igbinovia Imiefan Collins, Rodrigo Loreto Peña, Juan Manuel Alcaide Mellén) from the Department of Corporate Security and General Services.
  • Francisco Javier Casco Lozano, DWTP operator of the Extremadura Delegation of Aqualia.
  • Lara Martín Rodríguez, service technician at Jardines Valdemoro in Zone III of the Environment Center Delegation.
  • Carlos Sánchez Serrano, factory manager of the Industrial Area of Megaplas, S.A.
  • Paulino Romero Nevado, Area Manager, Sewerage Inspection and Cleaning of Zone III of the Delegation of Barcelona Capital and the Balearic Islands of FCC Medio Ambiente.
  • Amandino Da Silva Moura and Manuel Pereira, general managers in CRR, of Area I of Portugal of FCC Construcción.

The event closed with a family photo and a healthy breakfast. At FCC, improving the safety, health and well-being of people in the work environment is a fundamental pillar of the organization and is a differentiating value in the development of its activities, all promoted with its VIVE project healthy
