FCC Construcción Central America has completed the construction of the Los Chinamos - El Ayote (Nicaragua) highway improvement project.

The project has included the construction of 39.14 kilometers of road, minor and major drainage works, as well as paving with a bearing layer in asphalt mixture modified with polymers.

Section 1 has its starting point in the hamlet of the El Camastro region, and ends 4.5 kilometers in Los Chinamos. Section II begins after section I and ends in the urban area of El Ayote.

In section I, it has involved the construction of a variant that diverts the area to Los Chinamos by the West and also includes the improvement of the urban crossing through this town.

During the realization of this work, various environmental mitigation measures were contemplated, among which we can mention, the rescue of wildlife, the collection of solid waste (garbage), which were deposited in the municipal landfill, cleaning and removal of material in the work zone and hydrocarbon waste management through certified companies.

The project has included social mitigation measures, which sought to keep the population informed about the benefits of the work; Road education workshops were conducted for the student population, as well as meetings of good socio-environmental practices, where local authorities participated.

The project benefits a population of more than 46,000 people, positively affecting trade, transportation, community connectivity, reducing the journey by 45 minutes between populations. Among the communities benefiting from the project, we can mention: Barrio Loma Linda, Chile Los Chinamos, Tapalwas III, Tapalwas II, Cuscuas (Sector Anges Suarez), El Chile (Sector Chavelo), Dos Bocas (Las Pavas), Palmira (La Vega), among others.
