REFORM2

Recycling of Plastic for the Reformulation of Concrete

Objective

The REFORM2 project will analyse all plastic waste generated by FCC and will select the most suitable waste to be included in the mix of aggregates used to produce fireproof concrete.

For the development of this new plastic from waste, FCC shall collaborate with Eurecat, which has a pilot extrusion-compounding plant in which the different thermoplastic compounds will be manufactured with physical-chemical properties similar those of other concrete aggregates that allow for homogeneous mixing and optimum quality of the concrete once it has set.
