The red line of the Doha Metro, built by FCC Construcción, has been inaugurated by the Qatar Ministry of Transport and Communications.
The red line extends from Al Qassar station to Al Wakra station, about 40 kilometers long. This commissioning is key to meeting the transport connection deadlines, necessary for the 2022 soccer World Cup. This line, recently inaugurated partially, will transport the fans of the Al Wakra stadium to the Lusail stadium in the near future. which will be disputed World Cup matches 2022. The complete metro network, which will open in 2020, will have three lines: red, green and gold. It will consist of 37 stations and 85 km in length. Future extensions of the subway will include the construction of an additional line (blue) and the expansion of existing ones, with 65 additional stations. As planned, the first expansion will be completed in 2026.
FCC Construction and Doha Subway The project includes the construction of the elevated section of the red line RLS of the capital Catarí as a continuation of the red line RLS Underground. It is a section of 6.97 km of metro line, with three elevated stations (Ras Bu Fontas, Al Wakra and Free Zone).
The section executed by FCC, within the Red Line, has constituted one of the stretches of greater advance of execution with respect to the totality of sections that diverse international construction companies have developed.

FCC Construction prequalified in the tender for the extension of the green line of the Doha Metro and in the works of the extension of the northern red line The international consortium of which FCC Construcción is a part, was prequalified for the construction of the "Green Line" Extension "of the Doha Metro.
The extension of the Green Line Phase 1A underground line consists of an underground section, an elevated section and another on the surface. The underground section is part of the Green Line and begins in the south at the Al Mansoura station, which belongs to Phase 1 and is currently under construction, ending in the Mesaimeer transition section. This lot includes 7.73 km of double tunnel drilled by tunnel boring machine, and 5 underground stations, one of which is the intersection with another metro line in the city.
The surface section is part of the Green M30-32 Line and begins on the surface by the Mesaimeer transition and ends on the surface to the Al Karajat station. This lot includes 1.92 km of double track and 5.20 km of viaduct, as well as 3 elevated stations and 1 surface station with pedestrian bridge access.
Both lots include the design and implementation of railway systems that must be completely automatic and compatible with the already existing systems of the Phase 1 of the Doha Metro and that can be extended in subsequent phases. FCC has also offered the 26 km double-track laying works for the extension of the northern red line between Lusail and Al Khor.
