FCC Construcción wins the contract to design and execute the Ventas (Madrid) underground project

FCC Construcción has won the contract to design and execute the more than 189 metres of the M-30 in Ventas (Madrid). The contract is worth more than 70 million euros and has a term of 24 months.
The project will involve the construction of a platform over the ring road that will generate a surface area of 17,000 square metres that will connect the districts of Salamanca and Ciudad Lineal in terms of both pedestrians and landscape. In this way, the Quinta de Fuente del Berro park, on the Salamanca side, and the green area and sports facilities located in Ciudad Lineal will be directly linked.
The platform will be about 200 metres long and 80 metres wide and will be occupied by paths and pedestrian areas, gardens, children's playgrounds and new trees. The platform will be located 300 metres south of the Ventas bridge to avoid demolishing the ramps that connect the M-30 with Calle Alcalá.
The space created over the M-30 will be connected to the riverbanks by eight paths and will have pedestrian areas, landscaped areas and places to rest and relax. In addition, there will be children's playgrounds, calisthenics equipment and a small open-air performance area with low-rise seating.
The project will include the redevelopment of some of the streets on either side of the new platform to improve integration and connection. On the Salamanca side, Calle Alejandro González, Plaza de la América Española, the children's playground at the end of Quinta de Fuente del Berro park and Calle Ramón de Aguinaga will be remodelled.
