The FCC Construcción Australia team took part in the Run Melbourne and City 2 Surf sporting events, once again committing to health and wellbeing as part of the challenge set by the team’s Strava Fitness Club.
Run Melbourne has become an important event in the calendar of all Melbourne runners. The race goes past some of Melbourne's most iconic landmarks, including Flinders Street Station and Marvel Stadium. It's a fun way to enjoy the sights and sounds of Melbourne while raising money for charity. FCC Construction Australia had representatives in both the half marathon and 10km Run Melbourne events. The event was attended by an impressive 25,000 runners.
Employees from the Sydney office took part in the famous City 2 Surf in the Harbour City. This is the world's largest fun run, an iconic 14km course that this year attracted 88,000 runners. The course started in Hyde Park and wound through Sydney's many bays, finishing at Bondi Beach. Since its inception 53 years ago, City 2 Surf has raised more than A$55 million for charity, with A$3.7 million raised this year. Similarly, Run Melbourne has raised more than A$20 million in its 16 years, with $1 million raised in 2024.
