The construction area increased its income in 2024 to 2.99 billion euros

In 2024, the construction division increased its revenue by 6% to 2,991.3 million euros. This is explained by the start of new projects awarded during 2024, including industrial projects in the development of renewable energy and gas plants, as well as other relevant international projects in rail and road infrastructure.
By geographical area, in Spain turnover increased by 5.7% to 1,171.1 million euros, with a notable improvement in the rate of progress on works in progress, especially railways, such as the Mediterranean Corridor, as well as the start of new works, including the construction of photovoltaic plants in Guillena (Seville). In Europe, turnover grew by 27% to 882.8 million euros, mainly supported by the progress of motorways in the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Romania.
In the Middle East and Australia, revenue increased significantly by 29.4% to 259.6 million euros, largely due to a greater contribution in Saudi Arabia from the Neom project, whose progress has more than offset the near completion of the recently inaugurated Riyadh metro.
The construction area contributed 11.8% to the FCC Group's consolidated EBITDA during 2024. Gross operating profit grew by 0.2% to 169.7 million euros, with an operating margin of 5.7%.
On the other hand, the net operating result increased by 4.1% compared to 2023, reaching 123.3 million euros. The margin has remained stable and in line with the previous year, with a similar evolution throughout the year.
The revenue portfolio experienced a slight decrease compared to the levels in December 2023, reaching 6,368.4 million euros. Internationally, the portfolio was reduced by 2.1% to 3,956 million euros, despite the fact that major projects such as GNL Stade (Germany) and the construction of social housing in Australia (Queensland) stand out; the portfolio in Spain grew by 1.1%.
At the end of the year and by type of activity, civil works maintained their importance, accounting for 71.6% of the portfolio.
