Revenues from the construction area of the FCC Group increased by 13.8% in the first half of the year
The FCC Group's construction area revenues have increased during the first half of the year, 13.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, thus reaching 768.2 million euros. By geographical area, in Spain the turnover increased by 12.1%, to 414.8 million euros, due to the increase in the rate of contribution in the remodeling of the Santiago Bernabéu football stadium, as well as in other recent works award. In Europe and other markets, turnover grew 18.4% compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 169.5 million euros, thanks also to the greater contribution of projects started such as the Haren prison in Belgium, the A ‐ 465 in Wales or the A ‐ 9 motorways in the Netherlands and the A ‐ 6 in Norway. In Latin America and the US, the turnover grew significantly to 99.8 million euros, due to the greater contribution of the Mayan Train in Mexico and the start of work on a road project in Chile.
Gross operating profit (EBITDA) increased during the first half of the year to reach 46.2 million euros compared to 17.4 million in the same half of the previous year. In this way, the operating margin recovers and reaches 6%. The net operating profit recorded was 32.3 million euros compared to 0.7 million the previous year.
The area's revenue portfolio reaches 4,873.1 million euros. By type of activity, civil works continues to be the dominant one, with 81.3% of the total. All the typologies reflect the highest rate of progress in projects, with special visibility in Building.
