FCC wins the biggest contract in Phase 1 of the construction of PowerCo's gigafactory in Sagunto (Valencia)

FCC Industrial, in collaboration with Constructora San Jose, have been awarded the biggest contract in phase 1 of PowerCo's gigafactory in Sagunto, Valencia. Specifically, both companies have been awarded the contract for the construction of air conditioning production facilities (FIDIC Silver) and the contract for the electromechanical installations (FIDIC Red).
The project has a completion period of 17 months.
Within the Sagunto battery manufacturing plant, the contracted works and activities are essential and key to the development of the plant itself, which, with a surface area of over 130,000 square metres, is one of the largest industrial battery plants in Spain and among the most important in Europe.
The activities to be carried out include the medium and low voltage installations for battery production, as well as conventional electromechanical installations (fire protection, public address, ventilation, extraction, nitrogen, compressed air, helium, other gases). It also includes the supply and assembly of auxiliary installations for all contractors.
The plant is prepared for two phases of expansion similar to the contract awarded.
FCC Construcción, for its part, is in charge of the construction of two buildings, FA1 and FA2, within the plant itself. These buildings are part of the first phase of the project and construction of the gigafactory dedicated to the manufacture of electric vehicle batteries.
With this contract FCC Industrial has positioned itself as an industrial benchmark in the automotive sector, which, added to its 125 years of experience in the design and execution of industrial infrastructures, positions it as a leader in the national and international market.
