FCC ranks fifth in the Merco Responsabilidad ESG Spain 2024 ranking, which evaluates the most socially and environmentally responsible companies in the country. This 14th edition measures the environmental (E), employee, customer and social (S) and ethical and corporate governance (G) recognition of companies operating in Spain.

Grupo Social Once, Inditex and Ikea are the three most responsible companies according to ESG criteria in Spain. FCC is in fifth place in the sector ranking of construction companies. 

The ranking is based on seven analytical perspectives and 26 sources of information, with a total of 63,786 surveys conducted, thus showing the most environmentally and socially responsible companies, as well as the most responsible in terms of governance. 

Specifically, Merco Responsabilidad ESG Spain 2024 has counted with the participation of 1,195 managers, 71 CSR experts, 100 financial analysts, 77 journalists of economic and social information, 117 members of ‘Government’, 120 NGO managers, 78 trade union managers, 65 consumer association managers, 92 Social Media Managers, 400 SME managers, 9. 257 citizens, as well as the latest edition of Merco Talento (52,131 people in the sample) and Merco Digital (in collaboration with Nethodology), which analyses the publications and conversation generated in social networks. In addition, objective indicators have been studied in the different dimensions, provided by 83 companies.

The publication of this monitor allows companies to improve their recognition in the environmental, social and corporate governance fields, being aware that the work begins within the organisation itself.
