The World Architecture Festival was held in Berlin from Wednesday 16th to Friday 18th of November.

Over the three days, the best works opened in 2015 were assessed, which resulted in the new German School in Madrid winning an award in the best design category.

The project, undertaken by FCC, is the best school building of 2015. The building, built in the Madrid neighbourhood of Montecarmelo, located in north of the city, is home to a primary and a secondary school with a capacity for 1,500 students. It is also home to a nursery school with a 300-child capacity, a multi-use sports centre, a canteen and an assembly hall, which accommodates up to 750 people.  The facility covers around 27,000 square metres.

This construction is the largest German civil construction project undertaken abroad.
